Theatre minors are students who concentrate their focus of study in acting, directing, stage management, costume design, stage and lighting design, or theatre technology.
Hamman Hall is a 475-seat proscenium-style auditorium on the Rice University campus. Built in 1958, Hamman Hall was originally built to house music, theatre and performing art spaces. Today, the Rice Theatre Program operates the building and it houses the Rice theatre program, an academic minor in the School of Humanities. Hamman Hall is available for rental to non-profit, 501-C organizations. Hamman Hall is available August through May as the academic calendar allows There is a pay-to-park lot located conveniently across the street from Hamman Hall (between Entrances 20 and 21). In addition, Rice University offers several on-campus lots, as well as 15-minute spots outside of Hamman Hall.
