Welcome

CHRISTINA KEEFE
PROFESSOR IN THE PRACTICE AND DIRECTOR

RICE THEATRE PROGRAM, SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES

The Theatre Program at Rice University welcomes students at all levels of experience.  Our dynamic program allows for you to explore your interests onstage or in design/technology.  The faculty are committed working artists who bring their experiences to the classroom.

We produce two productions per academic year in our 450-seat proscenium theatre. These productions are an integral part of our academic program. Academic credit may be earned for all production positions, which are open to all students. You may act or work in stage management, set and costume construction, scene painting, lighting, or sound.  Our interdisciplinary minor means that you can choose among many courses across the University in areas of arts, literature, history, writing and more.

The Theatre Program graduates have gone on to work in the arts, education, engineering, medicine, business and law.

We look forward to seeing you at the theatre!
